What's in the name?

Chironcrest (kiron-crest)

(Chiron) According to Greek myth, Chiron was a centaur (half man-half horse), who was kind, compassionate and devoted to teaching. He was a mentor and a healer, who brought out the best in each individual fostering their greatest talents. At Chironcrest, it is our goal to bring horse and rider together, working as one, and to combine human and horse wisdom.

(Crest) In definition, crest means top or peak. As Chiron did, we also dedicate ourselves to bringing out the best in our riders and horses.

Chironcrest is located in Northern Illinois at Russellville Manor Farm. We specialize in registered Morgan show horses, and offer horse training and riding instruction to students ages four and up. Whether you are interested in pleasure riding or competition, it is our goal to make your experience at Chironcrest enjoyable and memorable.

Our Philosophy

When working with horses and individuals, we pay special attention to the communication between horse and rider. We emphasize that through this communication, horse and rider are able to understand one another, therefore maximizing their effectiveness when working together as a team.
